Becky Wade’s Porter Family – A Review and a FREE BOOK!

51rLTBWHFSL__SX322_BO1,204,203,200_Becky Wade is the author of the Porter Family series, a four-book saga of one family’s lives and loves. Each novel features one of the Porter siblings and their journey to happily ever after.

I’m eager to read Her One and Only, the final Porter book, but I expect it will live up to the high standard set by the preceding three. While I wait for its May 2016 release date, I thought I’d share my review of this series so far.

Book 1: Undeniably Yours

Bo and Meg’s tumultuous beginning starts off this series and introduces us to the Porters. Bo is the eldest, and bears a lot of responsibility for the family. Meg, on the other hand, grew up a privileged only child and has never experienced the love and joy of a big family. When she inherits her father’s horse ranch, Meg isn’t too keen on keeping it – until she meets Bo. Add in a scheming 517W1IwAgSL__SX322_BO1,204,203,200_criminally-inclined ex-husband, a developing romance, and the arrival of a desperate young woman and her baby, and Meg’s life is turned upside-down!

I loved gentle Meg’s fierceness for those she cares about, and Bo’s protective personality. Plus, Bo’s a cowboy, and a good cowboy romance is always fun to read!

Book 2: Meant to Be Mine

Ty and Celia got married in Vegas one night, and the next morning they parted ways, never to meet again. But five years later, Ty reappears in Celia’s life – and discovers she has an adorable little girl who looks a lot like Ty. 51++TvAl7SL__SX322_BO1,204,203,200_

Family reunions make for great stories. Ty and Celia’s daughter Addie was about the cutest character I’ve ever read, and each of their longing for a united family drove a lot of the emotion and action in this novel.

Book 3: A Love Like Ours

Jake, a wounded veteran-turned-horse-trainer, stole my heart from the get-go. Afraid to let people in, afraid those he loved would be hurt, but tough and protective nevertheless. Lyndie just shook up his quiet, lonely heart and refused to let him retreat. Her determination and unwavering dedication to Jake and the horses came through so clearly, that she felt like 51YbVboXrSL__SX321_BO1,204,203,200_someone I’d known for ages.

Each protagonist in this series – Bo, Meg, Ty, Celia, Lyndie, Jake – has some quality or some personal struggle that you can identify with. But Jake’s vulnerability, especially, pulled me in. I wanted to hug him more than once as I read A Love Like Ours. Now that’s a good book.

I enjoyed all three of these novels! Each shares a new couple’s story, but also continues the stories of the preceding characters. If you’ve read my previous reviews and posts, or checked out my Goodreads “read” shelf, you know I love series that share the stories of a whole family, such as Dee Henderson’s O’Malley books. The list is endless and ever-growing, and I’m thrilled to add Becky Wade’s series to that group!

To sweeten this post, I’ll let you in on a little secret: Through the end of February, Undeniably Yours, book 1 in the Porter Family series, is available for FREE on Amazon!
