Traces of Guilt – Dee Henderson’s Reign Continues

51atDo0oG9L._SX322_BO1,204,203,200_Once again, Queen Dee has given us a story full of mystery, romance, faith, and hope – a story that makes us forget our own worlds and delve into her imagination for a while. I have named her a queen of inspirational romantic suspense, and she continues to write amazing inspirational romantic suspense year after year.

Traces of Guilt is a masterful mystery, full of questions and suspense and stirrings of romance. I fell in love with Evie’s joy and passion for puzzles, with Gabriel’s steady nature and devotion to his family. And you know it’s going to be a great book when Ann Falcon flies into town! 🙂

Dee’s latest novel focuses on cold cases and the investigators who work them. And I hope it’s only the first of several books to feature these characters! Evie works for the Illinois State Police Bureau of Investigations, and she’s recently been added to a task force focused on missing persons cold cases. She comes to Carin County hoping to solve two such cases with local sheriff Gabriel – and finds so much more than just the answers to the puzzles.

This story involves more than just the protagonists’ relationship and a mystery, and I loved the secondary relationships and how the different plot threads intertwined. Hopefully, we’ll get to catch up on those story lines in upcoming books!

My rating: 5/5 stars

Recommended for: fans of Dee Henderson, Dani Pettrey, Irene Hannon, and Lynette Eason; those who favor a mix of romance, faith, and suspense in their fiction picks; fans of puzzle-solving and mysteries

Note: I received a copy of this novel via Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley.
