Beth K. Vogt’s latest novel, Almost Like Being in Love, presents us with Caron, a realtor who unexpectedly wins the destination wedding of her dreams at a Colorado resort. Too bad she isn’t getting married!
Caron’s boyfriend isn’t ready to pop the question. And Caron isn’t sure she wants him to. She goes to Colorado to check out the resort and visit her best friend, and she promptly runs into her ex, Kade. Now heading up his own realty company, Kade needs a professional home stager for a big project – and he asks Caron to do it.
Soon Caron and Kade’s old feelings are stirred up. Now, they must navigate those emotions and decide if they’re willing to take a chance on one another again.
This was the first book by Vogt that I’ve read, and I may very well pick up another down the road. Almost like Being in Love isn’t a favorite of mine, but it is well-written and heart-warming. Funny, emotional, and infuriating, Caron and Kade’s relationship the second time around will have you cheering them on all the way to the end.
Almost Like Being in Love releases June 28th!
My rating: 3.5/5 stars
Recommended for: readers who enjoy second chance romances; fans of Beth K. Vogt’s and Victoria Bylin’s stories; those who enjoy bridal stories and glimpses into professional spheres like realty
