The Wedding Shop shares the story of Haley and Cole, who are working to restore the Heart’s Bend bridal shop together. Along the way, they discover Haley’s family history and the ages-old story of the shop’s late owner, Miss Cora. They also begin to fall in love. 🙂
I loved Haley’s character – she’s strong and tough, a former Air Force captain, with a lot of pain in her past that she’s had to overcome. I found myself rooting for her all the way through the book, hoping she and Cole would let themselves love each other.
Cole and Haley’s story is framed by Cora’s story – the story of a woman who yearned for love for years, nearly missing out on a love that was right under her nose all along. I loved the glimpses into the mid-1900s, the details of the vintage wedding dresses. There are some wonderful visually-illustrated historical tidbits in this novel.
If you’ve loved Rachel’s books in the past, especially the other Wedding stories or her Royal Wedding Series, you’ll love this one, too! It’s simply lovely. And just look at that gorgeous cover!!
The Wedding Shop follows Rachel’s previous two novels, The Wedding Dress and The Wedding Chapel. It releases today, so go check it out!
My rating: 5/5 stars
